Born Blushing is a sculptural installation exploring the relationship between the body, identity, and the internal experiences that shape us. The work is based on the idea of emotions, compulsions, and personal struggles as something living within the body like an entity moving through the bloodstream and influencing the way we experience ourselves and the world. The piece imagines the body as a site of transformation and conflict, where feelings such as rage, shame, fear, and desire become physical forces that travel and shift beneath the surface. Through this metaphor, the work explores the desire to understand, control, or separate oneself from the things that feel impossible to escape.

Over time, this internal experience becomes its own mythology: a creature existing within the bloodstream, both part of the self and separate from it. This imagined presence becomes something that can be confronted, studied, and questioned as a physical manifestation of the invisible forces that shape our thoughts, behaviours, and relationships with ourselves. Born Blushing explores the body as both a container and a site of discovery. The work asks whether the things we struggle against can ever truly be separated from us, and whether understanding these internal “monsters” comes from destroying them or learning how to coexist with them.
